ICT Intent
At Meadow Bank Community School, we are committed to ensuring that computing and the use of ICT are at the heart of every child's learning experience. Our subject leader has implemented robust ICT policies, dynamic curriculum planning, and a clear progression of skills, all of which are regularly reviewed and enhanced to meet the evolving needs of our pupils. Pupils are encouraged to develop a confident and safe approach to Computing and the use of ICT, with an understanding of the capabilities and flexibility of their resources. Teachers are aware of the duration of each unit and when to transition to the next unit of work.
ICT Implementation
At Meadow Bank, we aim to prepare our learners for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever-changing digital world. Knowledge and understanding of ICT are increasingly important for children’s future, both at home and in employment. Our ICT lessons are scheduled for an hour each week to help students develop the skills they need at their level. Once these skills have been taught, we connect them with other cross-curricular subjects, combining and applying learning to enhance both skills and understanding.
ICT Impact
At Meadow Bank, we strive to inspire our children to embrace, enjoy, and value the curriculum we provide. Our aim is for both children and staff to confidently discuss and reflect on the impact of their ICT learning journey. At the end of each unit or project, pupils share their positive experiences during interviews conducted by the ICT lead. These interviews help the subject leader gain a clear understanding of what children have enjoyed, as well as assess the retention of key knowledge within the curriculum.
